My mission / My journey
Hi, my name is Jesus and I wanted to share how Saved By The Leash came to be. My journey started with my own dog, Delta, who struggled with leash reactivity and behavioral issues at home. After seeking help from trainers and seeing the transformation that was possible, I found myself wanting to learn and become a part of that process for others. I thought to myself...what could be better?
What began with helping family members soon grew to helping neighbors and then strangers, and that’s when I realized my passion for balanced training and helping reactive dogs.

BalanceD training
Balanced training is the process of using both positive and negative motivations anytime we want to promote good behavior or stop unwanted behavior.
Essentially, I use anything your dog likes: food, toys, treats, and praise to increase likelihood of seeing specific good behaviors that we want to see more of.
When positive motivations stop working or aren't effective, I use correction to decrease the likelihood of seeing unwanted behaviors in the moment and in the future.

Free Behavioral Consultation
I will personally come to you for a free consultation. This is a non-negotiable part of the process. As an experienced trainer who wants to work with you, I'll help to identify and explain the underlying causes of your dog's behavior and develop a personalized training plan that is tailored both to your dog's needs, and meets the behavioral expectations you want most from your dog.
Aggression Management
This program is designed to help dogs overcome aggressive behavior such as resource guarding (food, toys, people, etc.), barking at and/or attacking other dogs or animals, biting, dominance (mounting, smelling private parts obsessively), and more. Every plan comes with detailed and targeted exercises that will increase your confidence as a handler and decrease your dogs fears and insecurities.
Board and Train
Board and Train
The board and train program is ideal for busy dog owners who want to ensure their dog receives top-quality training. Your dog will live with me in my home for a minimum of 2 weeks, and will receive personalized training sessions throughout the day. I'll teach your dog basic obedience commands and address any problematic behaviors they may have inside and outside of the home.
